Microist: Give Your Status for a Cause

On March 20, 2012, Ecorazzi is holding our first #MicroistDay benefiting Water.org. On this day, we will dedicate our entire social media influence to spread the word about the water crisis, the solutions, and the work of Water.org to create safe and sustainable access to water for the nearly one billion people without it.

In order to make an even larger impact, we are forming a team of individuals and businesses that want to join us. Be a micro-activist with us and join us to be a Microist on March 20!

Founded in 2003, Orange County Cavy Haven is dedicated to rehoming guinea pigs in the Orange and Los Angeles counties.  They rescue abandoned guinea pigs from shelters, rehabilitate, socialize and foster guinea pigs until they find their forever homes.  Through adoption events, pet expos, and the internet, Orange County Cavy Haven has been able to educate the public about the plight of homeless guinea pigs and proper care.

Why guinea pigs?  Typically, when people think of homeless animals, they think of cats and dogs.  Orange County Cavy Haven is raising awareness that other animals, such as reptiles, rodents, bird and small companion pets, are also homeless and need to be adopted.  Since they are not widely thought of, guinea pigs are typically bought in pet stores, leaving those without homes to be euthanized in shelters.

Donations to Orange County Cavy Haven primarily go towards the care and keeping of their guinea pigs, including food and proper housing.  Funds will also go towards education at adoption events and pet expos.
